From Humble Beginnings...
It has been many years since we began meeting in a living room, then in a small office building with no heat or air conditioning, and finally in an old church building. However, our desire since the beginning has been for spiritual blessings from the Lord, and not comfort.
Christianity is not something we do in our spare time; it is something we are. We have built our lives around the Lord Jesus Christ and His church.
Bible Believers Baptist Church is a testimony of God’s grace and mercy and we are living proof that the Lord does exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.
We are grateful to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for allowing us the privilege of being a part of such a great work.
From New Property to a Completed Church Home
As the church grew, the Lord opened the way for the property and building at 3857 Hartley Road — from the first property work and parking improvements to the clearing of the building site, the groundbreaking, foundation, exterior walls, roof, and the completed sanctuary.
Preparing the Property
The initial work on the new property included parking improvements, site clearing, and the preparation needed before construction could begin.
Prayer at the Foundation
Before concrete was poured, the congregation gathered on the building site for a special time of prayer. The occasion marked more than the beginning of a structure; it expressed the church’s desire that the entire work remain dependent upon the Lord Jesus Christ.
Standing on the Word of God
Preacher led the church in placing Bibles in the ground beneath the place where the pulpit and platform would stand. Those Bibles remain beneath the foundation as a reminder that Bible Believers Baptist Church is to stand on the Word of God.
The Building Takes Shape
With the foundation in place, the walls, roof, classrooms, and sanctuary began to take shape. Each stage was another answer to prayer and another step toward a permanent church home.
A Building Filled with Ministry
The completed building now serves regular worship, Sunday School, children and youth ministries, The Bible Doctrine Institute, and the annual King James Bible Jubilee. We are thankful for the building, but even more thankful for what the Lord allows the church to do within it.
